How to Write a Pharma Fresher Resume (with Sample Format)

By Pharmacy Updates Team · 2 Oct 2026

HR teams in pharma companies often spend less than a minute on each resume, especially during walk-in drives. A clear, one-page resume can decide whether you get called for the technical round. Follow this format.

Recommended resume structure

  1. Header: Full name, phone number, professional email (avoid nicknames), city. Add a LinkedIn link if you have one.
  2. Career objective (2 lines): Specific to the department you are applying for.
  3. Education: Degree, college, university, year and percentage/CGPA – latest first.
  4. Industrial training / internship: Company name, department, duration and 2–3 points on what you learnt.
  5. Project: Title and one line on your role and result.
  6. Technical skills: Instruments, techniques and software you actually know.
  7. Certifications and achievements: GPAT score, workshops, quiz prizes, papers or posters.
  8. Personal details (short): Languages known. Avoid unnecessary details like religion or full family information.

Sample career objectives

  • QC: "B.Pharm graduate seeking a Quality Control role to apply my knowledge of HPLC, UV spectroscopy and dissolution testing in a GMP environment."
  • Production: "M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics) fresher aiming to contribute to tablet manufacturing operations with knowledge of granulation, compression and GMP documentation."
  • Pharmacovigilance: "Pharm.D graduate eager to start a career in drug safety, with strong pharmacology knowledge and medical terminology."

Skills to mention by department

ProductionGranulation, compression, coating, in-process checks, BMR entries
PharmacovigilancePharmacology, medical terminology, MedDRA basics, MS Excel, English writing

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Two or three pages for a fresher – keep it to one page.
  • Copying the same objective for every job.
  • Listing instruments you have never used – interviewers will ask about them.
  • Spelling mistakes in drug names and company names.
  • Photos with poor background or selfies, if a photo is required.
  • Saving the file as "resume.pdf" – use "YourName_BPharm_Resume.pdf".

For walk-in interviews

Carry 3–4 printed copies, passport-size photos, original mark sheets and ID proofs as mentioned in the notice. Keep everything in a clean file folder in the order listed on your resume.

Tip: Before every interview, read your own resume once. Every line you have written is a possible interview question.

Frequently asked questions
