Marking+4 for correct, −1 for wrong answer
Duration3 hours
Always confirm the latest pattern, dates and eligibility in the official GPAT information bulletin on natboard.edu.in.

  • Pharmaceutics – physical pharmacy, formulation, biopharmaceutics & pharmacokinetics.
  • Pharmaceutical Chemistry – medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, analysis.
  • Pharmacology – mechanism of action, drug classes, adverse effects.
  • Pharmacognosy – crude drugs, phytoconstituents, tests.
  • Plus Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacy Practice and Jurisprudence.

A 6-month study plan

  1. Months 1–2: Complete Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology basics. Make short notes from day one.
  2. Months 3–4: Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Analysis. Solve topic-wise MCQs after every chapter.
  3. Month 5: Remaining subjects + previous year questions (PYQs) of the last 8–10 years.
  4. Month 6: Full-length mock tests (at least 2 per week), revise short notes, analyse every mistake.

Smart tips

  • PYQs are gold – many concepts repeat in a new form.
  • Because of negative marking, attempt a question only when you can eliminate at least two options.
  • Prepare one-page charts for drug classes, structures and formulas.
  • Study with a group – join our Telegram group for discussions.
